Karla Ralph

Regional Sports Director

I joined TSSSA in November 2022 as the new Regional Sports Director. Prior to this role I have been in education for 32 years. I have worked in both UK and Taranaki High Schools .

I have been fortunate to have worked at Opunake High School, Coastal Taranaki School, Taranaki Diocesan and Stratford High School as a PE teacher and Deputy Principal.

I am passionate about Sport and Education. I am proud to lead the TSSSA team to provide quality events, opportunities and activities for all secondary students within our region. It is important that we make a difference for our rangatahi and help them to improve their wellbeing through sports and physical activity.

My role is to work alongside our 17 Taranaki High Schools and Kura. We champion participation in school and TSSSA sports to promote enjoyment, fair play, provide learning opportunities, inclusiveness and positive experiences.

I am married to Steve and have two daughters Hope and India. I enjoy coaching hockey and mountain biking, playing golf and sailing in my spare time.

Amber Craig

Regional Events and Sports Coordinator

I joined TSSSA in April 2024 as the Regional Events and Sports Coordinator.

My role is to plan and deliver high quality and equitable opportunities for rangatahi across our 17 secondary schools in Taranaki.

I grew up in Waitākere (West Auckland) and developed a strong desire to work within the community. This lead me to University where I gained a Bachelor of Sport; Marketing and Management.

From there, I worked at Sport Waitākere for 3.5 years, offering opportunities across sport, active recreation and play for a cluster of 14 schools with a focus on Women & Girls, Māori & Pasifika and low socio-economic communities.

Since moving to Taranaki with my partner Jordan and son Jett, it has been a pleasure making connections within the Taranaki region.

I am excited to be part of the TSSSA team where we can increase participation for rangatahi and help them become active for life.
